    Thumb Pump 300 2013

    Title: Thumb Pump 300
    Location: Scorpion Park Pinnaroo SA
    Start Date: 29-03-20013
    End Date: 31-03-2013

With a lack of ATV specific events existing in Australia, 47 ran the first ‘Thumb Pump 300’ race in April 08. Over time this event has evolved into the Thumb Pump ATV Festival, Australia’s biggest ATV event which takes place at the purpose built facility just out of Pinnaroo, SA. The festival consists of a 300km 2 day race (the original Thumb Pump 300), a 100km night race (the Highbeam 100) and sand drags, with other classes and events coming on line every year.

The track for the main senior 300km event remains largely unchanged from year to year with everything from flat out top gear straights along established tracks, to tight, winding scrub trails through the brush and tough sandy hill climbs to test the competitors.

The Thumb Pump 300 has the richest prize purse of and ATV race in Australia, with tens of thousands of dollars worth of cash and prizes being handed out every year to class winners and place getters, plus every rider always receives a TP300 t-shirt and one of the famous Thumb Pump 300 Race Plaques, as a memento of the event.

So if you want to be part of the biggest ATV event in Australia, make sure you pencil in 29th -31st March on your calender and start your training now…you’re gonna need it!

Replay XD to partner with AORC

The Australian Off Road Championship has announced that extreme camera company Replay XD, will partner with the Championship to provide high definition on board and in-car vision as the official camera supplier for the AORC.

The partnership sees Replay XD Australia providing, installing and servicing the Replay XD1080 video cameras in a number of competitor vehicles. It is the smallest and lightest full HD video action-camera on the market.

The strategic relationship is an integral part of the 7Mate broadcast, which will be filmed and screened in HD, and a fundamental component of the social media updates that will be new to the 2013 Australian Off Road Championship.

Damien Tomlins from Replay said “the XD1080 HD video camera is all about small and simple. It features a water-resistant, hard anodized, rugged aluminium housing for extreme adventures which makes it a perfect fit for the off road buggies and trophy trucks”.

Damien will be at all AORC events starting at Hyden over Easter, where they will be trialling innovative placements and set ups to provide closer than ever action from angles rarely seen before.

AORC Broadcast to extend into regional stations

With the recent announcement of the Australian Off Road Championship telecast on 7Mate, it has also been confirmed that the program will be screened on 7Prime and Southern Cross regional networks, ensuring a true national audience for 2013.

Bronwyn Humphrey from HPSM said the 7Mate telecast and the style of AORC program that will be presented is a little different to what’s been produced in the past. As a result we will be working closely with the event organisers to ensure the race format is the best possible to showcase the competitors and the sport.

The team at Hyden have been extremely understanding and accommodating by agreeing to change the first AORC race format from one section on Sunday, to three sections raced over both Saturday and Sunday.

This revised format and the proposed changes to the AORC points structure, that will enable all finishers to receive outright points towards the Championship, will ensure a competitive weekend of racing.

Western Desert Racers are revising supplementary regulations and revised race details will be out as shortly

Jim Anderson Dozer Hire to Sponsor Dondingalong

Jim Anderson Dozer Hire has been announced as the naming rights sponsor for Round 1 of the 2013 New South Wales Off Road Championship to be held at Dondingalong on March 23 and 24. The event will be known as the ‘Jim Anderson Dozer Hire Dondingalong Off Road Challenge’.

Kempsey Macleay Off Road Club Media Representative Rod Thurgood said the club was very pleased to have Jim Anderson Dozer Hire supporting its event.

“It’s great to have a naming rights sponsor finalised well in advance of the Dondingalong race” Thurgood said.

“Jim Anderson Dozer Hire is based on the Mid North Coast, and Jim’s son Craig is an active member of our club, having raced a ProLite Buggy in the 2012 New South Wales Off Road Championship, so it’s a good sponsorship fit all round”.

“Last year’s Dondingalong race was memorable for the great wheel to wheel action served up by a strong field of competitors, so we are hoping for a repeat of that in 2013”.

“The Dondingalong venue has been around for almost 30 years and is one of the best facilities in the state, with spectators having a great view of more than half the track”.

Jim Anderson Dozer Hire is based at Coopernook on the New South Wales Mid North Coast, and has been operating for more than 30 years. The business has serviced the Manning and Hastings Valley areas but recently expanded its operation to incorporate the Macleay Valley, with the company playing a major role in the Kempsey Bypass that is due to open by Easter.

With more than 40 machines, including dozers, excavators, graders, bobcats and tippers at its disposal, Jim Anderson Dozer Hire is capable of looking after all your building site, dam construction, land clearing, road construction and general excavation requirements.
